Playing Craps in Online Casinos

Traditional venues for playing the game of craps may be intimidating for novice players and are often located in geographically disparate locations. Online casinos offer new players the comfort and discretion many of them crave, which is why such venues are partly responsible for the dramatic increase in craps players worldwide.

However, anyone who plays craps, regardless of the venue, would do well to become acquainted with a couple of common sense Craps Strategies. First, it is important for players to realize that there are no guaranteed outcomes in playing craps. As a player, you should know your personal and financial limitations; it is wise to bet only as much as you can afford to lose because in every bet you place on the craps table, you have no guarantee of getting it back again. Also, take care not to bet all your money on the line or you risk losing more than what you have started. The experts agree that betting 20% of your winnings should be enough to give your bankroll a chance to still multiply.

Having said all of that, playing craps online can be fun and exciting. And it is considerably cheaper to play craps online than in traditional venues. An online craps player can play at home, which means he or she incurs no transportation costs to get to and from the poker room. Provided the player already has a modern computer and an Internet connection, there are no further start-up costs for the player.

If you decide to play in an online casino, you should know a bit about how the money works. One issue exclusive to online casinos is the fact that players come from around the world and deal in a variety of currencies. This is not an issue in live casino where all of the players are expected to carry the local currency. Most online casino sites operate games exclusively in U.S. dollars, even if they do not accept players based in the United States. There are two methods by which casino sites can cater to players who do not deal with U.S. dollars on a regular basis.

The first method is to hold players' funds in their native currencies and convert them only when players enter and leave games. The main benefit of this method for players is to ensure that the money they've won is not subject to exchange rate fluctuations against their local currencies whilst they are not playing. It is the policy of most sites to apply the same exchange rate when a player cashes out of a game as when he or she bought in; this ensures that players do not expend significant sums simply by entering and leaving games. The other method is to require players to convert their funds when depositing them. One benefit of this method is that a player who constantly "tops up" his chip stack to a constant level does not have to worry about rounding issues when topping up.

Online casinos have enjoyed tremendous a success which is likely to continue into the immediate future. Online craps can be a fun, interesting, and inexpensive way to explore or enjoy the game of poker. Learning about its intricacies is an important part of mastering the game in its virtual form.

Gambling Is Growing World Wide - Perhaps at an Alarming Rate, You Decide

The other day, I was contacted by an eBook author with a new gambling eBook on Amazon, made for Kindle Users, he asked if I'd like to review it. Alan Samonte's newest book on gambling; "The Gambling System That Works," does sound interesting, and I think he's touching on a real uptrend here. It is as if just recently we've seen a bit of growth in the number of gamblers out there in recent months.

Interestingly enough, I've done a bit of writing on the topic of gambling. You see, after traveling across the US, I have visited all the major gambling areas, and some small ones out of the way too, mostly on Indian Reservations or near state lines, rivers, or other areas in the gray area of law, allowing for such.

Indeed, I've seen mesmerized senior citizens at slot machines, brought in by the busload, Asian tourists, and high-rollers. I've also visited the outskirts of Las Vegas where the "Shanty Towns" are similar to the depictions in the movie "Pay it Forward" and I've met gambling addicts, as well as those who love to have some fun in moderation, so my experiences and observations indeed run the gambit. Still, it seems that things are on the rise in the gambling world, why I can only guess.

My conclusion is that the economy and prospects for the future are causing some of this. Of course, the rest is just good casino marketing, branding, and all the special offers, players clubs, and incentives. For those who just like to have a little fun and don't blow it or gamble beyond their means it is a great way to entertain. For others, well, there are some sad stories out there of course, but being as we do live in a free country, we must also understand choice.

Why do I see gambling on the rise? Well, it seems everywhere I look, in the media, online and in the real world, there is growth in the gambling sector, and it's very competitive, not just in the USA, but world-wide - and not just in the real world but online too.

Recently in Japan Today newspaper there was a story about how Japan is wants to open up gambling in the country stating that the government needs the money and could tax the revenues, rather than losing out as Japanese travel to Macau, Singapore, and Las Vegas.

There have been reports that the US Congress may yield to pressure to make online gambling in the US legal, as they clean up the current illegal online gaming sector first. For instance the WSJ had an article "Gambling Site Bodog Shut Down Amid Ongoing Crackdown," and "US Shuts Sports-Betting Site, Indicts the Founder of Bodog," published on February 28, 2012.

There was a cool article in the Atlanta Business Journal on Leap Day 2012 entitled; "Developer proposes $1 billion gambling complex," written by Carla Caldwell, which stated that a GA Developer "wants to build a hotel, theater and a game floor with 7,500 video lottery machines, which could generate $350 million yearly to the state's struggling HOPE Scholarship program. Even though state lawmakers are searching for ways to help HOPE, gambling proposals don't typically gain widespread support."

There was another segment on CBS News on March 1, 2012 entitled; "Florida House votes to ban so-called Internet cafes," which discussed how folks were going online at Internet Coffee shops and betting online, which is against FL and US Law for people to do that, while the Café stated that they don't tell people what they can and cannot do online, even though the place is set-up for gambling online in this way. The segment stated that FL legislators voted to close 1,000 of these types of 'storefront operations and one legislator dramatically stated;

"These are truly the crack cocaine of gambling," and the segment went onto say; Internet cafes sell customers either phone cards or Internet time. But they also offer customers a chance to redeem electronic sweepstakes on computers that use software that mimics casino-styled games."

Okay so, what is it about gambling that so intrigues humans? Turns out there is a very real psychological reason for human gambling, and I bet that will increase as the human minds in our society continue down the path of instant information, entertainment, and the need to be globally connected in real time, and having continuous mental stimulation - something that gambling does definitely provide with all its excitement, fear, and fun.

Out in CA we have lots of Indian Casinos offering deals on meals, and gambling fun, even though in CA gambling is not allowed, but these are on Indian Property of course, which is common throughout the US. Because gambling is so fun, it attracts people from all walks of life; grandmothers, CEOs, the unemployed, and even those who are in charge of enforcing it all. It breaks all barriers of race, religion, nationality, socio-economic planes, and intelligence levels. Gambling is a human thing, I doubt we could stop it if we tried.

If folks don't gamble in casinos, they'll do it at the horse track, stock market, in business, or some other endeavor where they can pit chance against the potential eventuality for monetary gain. Indeed, I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

General Poker Tips And Strategy

The biggest mistake for beginner players is playing too many hands and playing too passively. It is important to wait for decent hands and throw away the junk hands. The big pairs such as AA, KK and QQ are by far the most profitable starting hands in poker. It's very important to play them in a way that maximizes your profit because these hands have a very high positive expectation and are rare. Just like other situations in poker where you have the best of it, you want to build up the pot quickly.

In most situations, when you have a big hand you want to build up the pot by taking the lead with betting and raising. However, there are some situations where you may want your opponent to be the aggressor and do the betting for you. You do this when your opponent is super aggressive and they bet and raise frequently with poor holdings. You should play it a bit different if you have a large stack nearing 100bb or more. This is because if you get it all-in on the river with a big stack, you will almost always be beaten by a two-pair hand or better. As the stack and pots get bigger, the better the hand you need to see a showdown. Often even strong hands like two-pairs and sets are no good when a lot of money goes in the pot on later streets. So if someone re-raises you on the turn or river with scary community cards, you may want to think about folding your high pair.

When you play a hand in poker it is important to plan the hand in advance. Why are you playing that hand and how are you going to play it? Too many players just play the hand because they like the look of it. They have succumbed to the "calling reflex" which is the idea that people have a tendency to want to call, even often without thinking about it beforehand. People don't come down to the local casino or play online to just sit there and fold all day. Small pairs and suited connected cards can be very profitable in no-limit hold 'em. Hitting sets and making flushes and straights have the potential to win big pots. They are often quite deceptive, especially straights like double gut shots, which are very hard to see and put people on sometimes.

Bad Beats and Poker Tilts

Poker is a very psychological game. You can be the most skilled player in the world but if you can't keep your emotions under control you will have trouble being a successful poker player. It is very important to only play poker when you are in a good mood and have a clear mind. When you are on tilt your emotions are affecting you play, so must either take a break or leave the table. When people lose a big pot or are tilting they often play faster and looser. When playing live poker games at the casino you are playing against real people with real emotions. Often these emotions have physical manifestations of the body that can be viewed by others at the table. These are called tells, and once you understand what they mean you can use them to your advantage. Below are some of my favourite tells.

Strong means weak. Weak means strong - Often players will try to be deceptive to persuade you to make the wrong decision. If your opponent acts very confidently or strongly, they are in fact are weak. They want you to fold or play passively. The big sigh - People often sigh when they have a big hand. It is a very common example of "weak means strong." They will make a big sigh and then begrudgingly make a call. Be aware they probably have a big hand. I love this tell because it's so obvious. Looking around the room - Often a player with a strong hand will sit back in their chair and look around the room. This person is trying to be innocuous so as not to scare off any opponents. If a player does this after a big bet, you should be afraid of a strong hand. When a flop of 3 cards of the same suit comes out on the flop, a player may look at his hole cards. This often means that the player can only remember that his has cards of two different suits, but not sure of what thex are exactly. The player would not have two cards of the same suits, because if he had two hearts in his hands for example, he would have been routing for hearts to come out on the flop.

Taking bad beats is a sign that you are playing well, a good player will take more bad beats than he will give. This is because you are playing better starting hands and are probably well ahead pre-flop or on the flop. If you are having many consecutive losing sessions you may want to consider analysing your game. Look back at your stats and the way that you played certain hands.

Different Types Of Players That Use Instant Play In Online Casinos

The moment instant play was introduced; it garnered a legion of supporters. It elevated online casino gaming into a different level. For the first time in history, a new gaming stage was established. But here's the catch, individuals no longer need to download anything. They no longer need to install a program that would occupy too much disk space.

However, the benefits and advantages of no-download casinos were not recognized not until technological innovations have been made. Yes, it was a big disappointment at first. Yet just when everything was about to crumble, the instant play feature has already transformed into a major asset that each and every online casino cannot afford to miss. Players who were once too skeptical about its release were converted into loyal patrons. Their reasons for recognizing this product vary. They are differentiated by their online gaming needs. Due to this, it can be inferred that instant play is most likely to cater to several groups.

First in the line are frequent travellers-individuals who can hardly spend an hour or two in front of their computers because they need to go from one place to another. In this scenario, it cannot be denied that no-download casinos proved to be a potent solution. In the event where they forgot to bring their laptop or other similar device, they can still log-in and play their favorite games in other computers. They do not have to worry about getting a software because as mentioned, there is no need to download and install.

Another group of players that support this platform are those who are wary about having enough space in their personal computers. At times, a gaming software may consume too much space that may slow down the device. If the computer can no longer accommodate and respond to the application, this may also prevent players from enjoying their preferred casino games. Fortunately, scenarios like this are being avoided because of the instant play feature. The only thing that they need to perform is to go online and voila, a casino gaming platform is within their reach.

Players who are also barred by a firewall are also known supporters instant play. Firewalls are usually set-up to prevent the user from accessing sites that could potentially harm the computer. Its use, however, is not limited inside corporate or academic settings. A firewall can be also installed at home. But thanks to instant play, one can still freely gain access to online casinos.

Clearly, although it is true that instant play is catered to players of all kinds, it is evident that still, these players can be further categorized. Again, it is because of their need, demands and present circumstance that made instant play a major hit.
